Hey everyone. Michael Roberts here with the outside podcast. I'm coming to you today on the

eve of Thanksgiving, not with a story, but with some big and exciting news about our show. Starting next week, with our November 29th episode,

I'm stepping down as the host and executive producer.

And here comes the exciting part.

Peter Frick Wright is returning. If you've been with us for the long

hall, you know that Peter was the first host of the Outside Podcast. Along with his creative

partner, Robbie Carver, Peter produced the ambitious Science of Survival Series that put us on the map.

And really, it was his vision for long-form adventure storytelling and audio that we have always

been chasing.

When Peter stepped away from the show at the end of 2019, he told us, and you, that he was

going to pursue highly ambitious projects.

That's exactly what he did. Together with Robbie, Peter produced

Mist Fortune, an Apple original podcast based on a feature story that Peter wrote for

Outside magazine. They also made two seasons of Bundyville, an amazing series that was

nominated for back-to-back National Magazine Awards. Plus another series called

Timber Wars, they won a Science Reporting Award from MIT.

Point is, Peter is incredibly talented,

and I am so, so thrilled to hand him back the microphone.

But here's the thing.

He and Robbie have a vision for the next stage of our growth

that will bring a diverse new cast of talented journalists and storytellers to the

outside podcast. You'll still hear from Patty O'Connell and Marin Larson and occasionally me, but we'll be debuting new
