There's really nothing better than getting emails from listeners who say, hey, that was one of my favorite podcasts or I really like the topics you discuss

today. They're right in my wheelhouse of things that I enjoy. And I bounce around all over

the place and had intended by now to do a heavily news slash political podcast on this first day

of February. But it's not in the cards.

There's just too many really giant names in sports making news.

And as far as I'm concerned, when I do the podcast, I really enjoy these, I don't know,

four or five times a year where all in one day, giant names in sports are making massive news that on other days,

maybe the fourth or fifth thing that I get to here today would be the biggest sports story in

America. You'd be seeing it all over, you know, sports center or wherever it is that you consume your

sports because these are just such massive, massive names. We begin with Tom Brady.

Tom Brady has retired.

This time he says for good.

We're not going to spend a lot of time on Tom Brady because we did the Tom Brady

retirement last year, but he did a very short Instagram post, a video where Tom Brady

this morning on Wednesday morning said, I'm retiring for good.

Then he said, we only get one super emotional essay, and I used that up last year.

So I won't take up much of your time.

He then just went on to thank all the fans, all of his teammates, all his competitors.

23 years, Tom Brady played quarterback in the National Football League, winning seven Super Bowl

titles, five Super Bowl MVP's, obviously the greatest NFL player of all time.
