Overall, the president's job rating is not at a good place when you're seeking reelection,

sitting at just 41%, driven by the 58% of Americans who disapprove of how he is handling

the economy right now, just 30% of independence, a proof of the job Biden is doing overall.

This 2024 Republican presidential primary field is taking shape.

The battle lines are becoming clearer and so is the field of candidates.

Is the odds on favorites if you look at the polling still Trump first Biden?

That seems to be it, but it's just way too early to tell it.

I'm more angry now and I'm more committed now than I ever was.

Big challenge for these candidates is going to be how do they navigate Donald Trump?

Yeah, I mean I tried Tom folks it would be a crazy day and you know as usual the morning came true.

You've got you've got remarkable consistency on that and so far you haven't missed not not once not one.

Have not missed so in case you all missed the news, I don't know how that's possible.

But it was really a black Monday on cable news with the news that Tucker Carlson was out at Fox came what is somewhat of a shock to I think just about everybody is the highest rated cable news host in the country.

Has an incredibly large audience and there didn't seem to or appear at least externally to be a lot of motioning about that kind of thing.

Clearly this comes a week removed from the settlement that Fox had with dominion over there you know upcoming defamation trial it was ultimately settled ahead of time for something just shy of $800 million.

So you knew that there was going to be some changes that is one that I didn't foresee smash no I didn't foresee it either I mean obviously the guys got a very successful show a lot of people tune in and you know it's often said that the Fox audience would watch anybody in those prime time slots and I think there's some truth to that but there's also a lot of truth to the fact that Tucker show was special he really pushed the envelope on news he really had interesting stories that you didn't often see and.

I think that it's going to leave a big hole they've obviously got a lot of talent over there they can try to use to fill it but but Tucker show was very interesting there's no on ramp or off ramp to the decision right I mean on Friday he

accident his show by saying see a Monday and they were promoting Tucker Carlson interviews is late as Monday morning and so you know you kind of wonder how this whole thing came about when it came about because it didn't appear like there's a lot of people in on this decision until it ultimately was made well and then the other thing is like you were saying in the wake of this dominion settlement.
