Big Financial Institutions Report Mixed Quarterly Results.

Positive earnings reports covering the first three months of the year from

J.P. Morgan-Chasin and Black Rock profits rose 6% at

JP Morgan Chase although it warned of lots of economic uncertainty ahead this

year. A global rebound in stocks helped Black Rock, the world's largest asset manager, get bigger.

It saw a 36% jump in profit and now has a record $10.5 trillion under management.

That's equal to nearly 40% of the entire annual

economic output of the United States. Citigroup and Wells Fargo reported lower

profits, although they still beat Wall Street's expectations.

Looking ahead to next week, we'll get quarterly results from Netflix, Procter and Gamble,

United Health, and Travelers Insurance, among others.

Once all reports are in, analysts are expecting about 5% higher profits from S&P 500 companies.
