Somewhere in the world right now, a child is approaching his father and asking him some tough questions about where babies come from.

Which will naturally lead to the question, is that where I come from too?

Or what about me? Where did I come from? For the parent, these types of awkward yet highly rewarding exchanges become some amusing memories. However, they answer them will undoubtedly form that child's understanding of the world. They learn about the frighteningly awesome power and get galvanizing differences

between men and women. There are biological differences. They learn about their mother and father,

their birthline. There's love. There's affection. There's family unit, the family picture.

From that moment on, the child would begin to understand that the family is a nucleus, the nuclear family, as we say, not only of their personal life, but of society, of the country, of civilization itself.

And this is all well and good to, you know, explain to them as they're older, but I want you to imagine a growing reality for many children

who are born this day, these days. It is a different reality than what I just described.

For many children, the answer to the question, where do I come from is this. You're the product

of a, you know, seed, an egg donor, an egg, placed in another person, carefully selected based on certain

criteria of appearance and background and quality, but who nonetheless remains completely
