I just read something that it feels like something we should know but I didn't know until today

until this morning that the Statue of Liberty is technically within New Jersey and not New York

Really did you know this? So there's been this several challenges by New Jersey Liberty Island and portion of Ellis Island.

They have fallen under the territorial jurisdiction of New York State.

But the U.S. government owns both islands and the waters of Jersey City surround Liberty Islands,

so by boat you need to travel

through Jersey to get there so technically it's that's weird.

I mean because that's like a fun question you could ask at trivia night like yeah is new is the

statute of liberty in new york or new jersey yeah because we all think it's it's full on

new york because that's what that's one of the first things you see when they when they show to add something like

that jaccee when you go watch when you go see Niagara Falls you're in Canada but
