and here is the Israel has carried out a military operation inside Gaza's Al-Shifa hospital, the largest

in the enclave and a focal point of Israel's war against Hamas.

The operation occurred hours after the White House and the

Pentagon yesterday backed Israeli assertions that Palestinian militants were

running military operations out of Gaza's hospitals, even as they continue to caution that hospitals and patients

must be protected.

Here was Defense Department Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh.

We do have information that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic jihad uses some

hospitals in the Gaza Strip including the al-Shifa Hospital as a way to conceal and support their military operations

and hold hostages.

They have tunnels underneath these hospitals.
