Summary

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (01/26/2024):

3:05pm- Earlier this week, in a 5 to 4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court determined that the Biden Administration has the authority to remove concertina wire erected by Texas officials along the U.S. Southern border—designed to prevent the unlawful border crossings that continue to plague the state. According to reports, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) has continued to place “razor wire” along the border—arguing that the Supreme Court may have authorized the federal government to remove the wiring, but he remains legally permitted to use the wire when he deems it necessary. In response to Abbott’s actions, several Democrat congressmembers have publicly called on the Biden Administration to “federalize” the Texas National Guard, ultimately preventing Abbott from securing his state’s border.

3:10pm- During a Friday afternoon press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if the American people should be “prepared for the situation on the border to get worse.” In response, she said she was unable to predict the future.

3:20pm- While appearing on Fox News with Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer, Governor Greg Abbott defended his placement of concertina wire along the U.S. Southern border, exclaiming: “Texas has a right, as a state, to stop criminals from coming into our state.”

3:30pm- White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s policies of “making it harder for Border Patrol to do their jobs.”

3:40pm- During a recent MSNBC broadcast, Joy Reid ridiculously compared enforcing the U.S. Southern border to prevent mass-unlawful immigration to segregation. While these proclamations play well with the radical left, are they going to win over any moderate Democrats or independents in an election year? Consequently, could the Biden Administration’s policies to appease progressives destroy President Biden’s reelection chances?

3:50pm- During a press conference earlier this week, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on the federal government to ban Zyn nicotine pouches and energy drinks. In response, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) said he would not support a product ban, arguing that he will always be “on the side of more freedom” and “personal choice.”

4:05pm- Earlier this week, in a 5 to 4 decision, the U.S. While speaking with Tucker Carlson on the social media platform X, Gov. Abbott said he is not seeking a conflict with federal authorities over the border, but he will continue to protect his state from unlawful migration.

4:15pm- While appearing on a podcast, Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake encouraged Texas Governor Greg Abbott to secure the border and dare the Biden Administration to “arrest a sitting governor.” However, as Rich notes, Gov. Abbott is not violating the Supreme Court’s decision nor is he violating federal law. What could he even be arrested for?

4:30pm- Dr. Victoria Coates— Former Deputy National Security Advisor & the Vice President of the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the revelation that United Nations workers may have helped Hamas execute their October 7th, 2023 attack against Israel which left an estimated 1,400 Israeli citizens dead. In response, the U.N. has fired 12 workers and has initiated an investigation. The U.S. has temporarily ended aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Plus, the Biden Administration has announced a pause on liquified natural gas exports. Dr. Coates is the author of “David’s Sling: A History of Democracy in Ten Works of Art.” You can find her book here: https://www.amazon.com/Davids-Sling-History-Democracy-Works/dp/1594037213

4:50pm- The New York Times writes: “A Manhattan jury on Friday ordered former President Donald J. Trump to pay $83.3 million to the writer E. Jean Carroll for defaming her in social media posts, news conferences and even on the campaign trail… The award included $65 million in punitive damages, which the nine-member jury assessed after finding Mr. Trump, 77, had acted maliciously.” You can read more about this breaking story here: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/01/26/nyregion/trump-carroll-defamation-trial

5:05pm- In response to a Manhattan Jury ordering him to pay writer E. Jean Carroll $83 million in a civil defamation suit, Republican presidential candidate Trump posted on his Truth Social account: “Absolutely ridiculous! I fully disagree with both verdicts, and will be appealing this whole Biden Directed Witch Hunt focused on me and the Republican Party. Our Legal System is out of control, and being used as a Political Weapon. They have taken away all First Amendment Rights. THIS IS NOT AMERICA!”

5:10pm- Dr. Wilfred Reilly—Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University & Author of “Lies My Liberal Teacher Told Me”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the Biden Administration’s refusal to secure the U.S. Southern border and their compounding of the issue by removing barriers to entry erected by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Are the administration’s policies going to appeal to basically anyone in the 2024 presidential election? Plus, according to reports, former NCAA swimmer Lea Thomas is petitioning the Olympics for permission to compete in Olympic competitions. Thomas is a biological male who gained national notoriety for participating in NCAA women’s competitions—often dominating. You can pre-order Dr. Reilly’s upcoming book here: https://www.amazon.com/Lies-My-Liberal-Teacher-Told/dp/0063265974.

5:40pm- Treasury Secretary “Buffalo Bill” Janet Yellen shamelessly applauded the Biden Administration for rescuing the U.S. economy from recession. However, didn’t the economy experience two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth under the Biden Administration—the traditional definition of a recession?

6:05pm- Earlier this week, in a 5 to 4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court determined that the Biden Administration has the authority to remove concertina wire erected by Texas officials along the U.S. Southern border—designed to prevent the unlawful border crossings that continue to plague the state. 6:15pm- Which teams will ultimately end up in the Super Bowl? In the AFC Championship the Baltimore Ravens take on the Kansas City Chiefs. And in the NFC Championship, the San Francisco 49ers host the Detroit Lions. Plus, Matt tries McDonald’s new double Big Mac—is it worth the 780 calories? Absolutely!

6:30pm- On Friday, the Biden Administration announced a pause on liquified natural gas exports.

6:45pm- Former NCAA swimmer Lea Thomas is petitioning the Olympics for permission to compete in Olympic competitions. Thomas is a biological male who gained national notoriety for competing in NCAA women’s competitions—often dominating.
