Our top stories in a television interview President Joe Biden defended his horrific

debate performance as a one-off quote well I just had a bad night he told ABC news when asked if he watched the debate

afterwards he said quote I don't think I did no mr Biden insists that he is staying in the race but more Democrats are

pressuring him to step aside. Mark Warner, a senator from Virginia, is

reportedly trying to corral colleagues to ask Mr. Biden to drop out.

Morer Healy, the governor of Massachusetts, urged the president to, quote, carefully evaluate his candidacy.

Sakea Stama became Britain's Prime Minister after the Labour Party won a landslide victory in the general election.

Rishi Sunak said he would shortly step down as leader of the Conservative

Party. Labor secured more than 400 seats that Tories tumbled to their lowest seat tally in modern times.
