Hello, and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the No-Chit-Chit Podcast.

We like to get right into it, and what we're going to get into today is a desperate,

desperate political situation for President Joe Biden and the Democrats with midterm

elections about six months away.

We've been talking about how bad it is.

It's probably worse than that.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to talk about a new memo you may not have heard

of by Doug Soznik, who is a big deal, Democratic pollster strategist, made his name working

for the Clintons in the 1990s and is an influential voice in Democratic politics.

And then I'm going to talk a little bit about, I guess you might call it a counterfactual,

Democrats might have made things even worse for themselves and the country than they are

now.

So that's what we're going to talk about.

So start off with the Soznik memo, and I'm actually going to start off at the end of

it because because he says something that I've been saying for quite a while.

Here's what he says.

If past elections are any indicator, we are heading into the final stage of the election

period when voters are beginning to lock in on their views of the state of the country

and their expectations for the future.

It is during this period and not the final days of an election that the public settles

in on how they're going to vote.

So we're in a decisive period right now.
