President Biden has made a move on the border. Yesterday, number 46 issued a long-rumored executive order restricting

migrants ability to claim asylum when the average number of daily border encounters

hits 2,500. The order went into effect overnight at border encounters

The order, similar to one struck down by the courts during the Trump administration, drew criticism from Republicans who called

it a desperate political stunt and some Democrats who accused Biden of betraying migrants.

Biden said Republicans decision to block bipartisan immigration reform in Congress left him with no choice.

The ICLU has promised to challenge the order, saying a ban on asylum is still illegal.
