The Powerful House Rules Committee is debating the bipartisan debt ceiling deal that President

Biden and House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy struck over the weekend to try to avoid an economic

catastrophe.

But there are multiple hardline Republicans on that very committee, the Rules Committee,

who are furious with the deal, and they have the chance to derail it all right now.

One of those conservatives, Congressman Chip Roy of Texas, joined his freedom caucus

colleagues earlier today to urge the entire House Republican caucus to vote no.
