It is a pleasure to be here. I will say with my longtime friend, Brett McGurk, because we,

I know, I don't say that anymore. I get surous from Rachel Goldberg, Poland, but I've actually

worked with Brett going back 20 years. We overlapped in Iraq in the George W. Bush administration. I was there from April of

2003 to June of 2004. Brett came in January of 2004. And then Brett went on, as you heard from the

introduction, to work for presidents from both parties. In these highly polarized political times,

the idea that someone, and he's a political appointee,

he's not a civil servant, he's not a career foreign service officer, the idea that he worked for

President Bush, President Obama, President Trump, and President Biden is quite extraordinary,

no small feat.
