Democrats have had a politically rough winter, one that's ended with President Biden's

approval rating plunging to new lows.

Now though, Democrats are hoping to turn things around with only eight months left before

the midterm elections.

And Biden used his state of the Union address earlier this week to try to chart a new path

for his party and his agenda.

And Marry Port is this, the state of the Union is strong because you, the American people,

are strong.

We are stronger today.

We are stronger today than we were a year ago.

And we'll be stronger a year from now than we are today.

Biden seems to be using this moment to pivot.

He's emphasized his administration's centrist agenda items and he's released new policies

in response to the pandemic, calling for an end to shutdowns and school closures.

But some in his party have said it may be too late.

But will the Democratic party follow suit?

And how will voters' priorities be reflected in the elections to come across the country?
