Our top stories the S&P 500 index of America's big firms closed at a record high on

Friday the first time in two years. A rally in shares and

semiconductor companies such as AMD and NVIDIA helped it to close at over 4,800 points.

Tech optimism is up.

T.S.C, a Taiwanese chipmaker, reported strong demand for AI chips,

lifting hopes for a bounce back in smartphone and

computing demand. Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, spoke with

Joe Biden on Friday for the first time in weeks.

In a statement the White House said the two leaders discussed Mr Biden's quote,

Vision for a two-state solution, an increasingly tense subject.

On Thursday, Mr. Netanyahu said he opposes a Palestinian state,

but the Biden administration sees it as crucial to long-term peace in the region.

The Huthies will offer Russian and Chinese ships safe passage through the Red Sea, said an official from the Iran-backed Yemeni militant group.

He added that the Huthies would continue to attack vessels, quote, in any way connected with Israel.

The attacks have heavily disrupted commercial shipping.

On Friday, the Huthies claimed responsibility for another assault on an American ship.
