This right here is Mr. Javier Basera, the current secretary of the U.S. Department of Health

and Human Services.

He's a political appointee by the Biden administration.

And given the fact that the FDA, the CDC, the NIH, and every single other health-related

government agency since underneath the purview of the Department of Health and Human Services,

well Mr. Javier Basera is essentially the U.S. government's chief health official.

And therefore, what he says carries considerable weight, despite the fact that he's not a doctor,

he's a former lawyer, but still he heads up that particular department.

And so it came as a bit of a surprise to anyone who was actually paying attention when

on November 29 of last year, Mr. Javier Basera sent out the following message to the whole

world via his Twitter account, quote,

an updated COVID vaccine can help protect you from the worst outcomes of COVID.

If it's been over two months since your last dose, make a plan to get one now.

Now that directive of his was a bit confusing, to say the least, because for one, it appeared

that he was suggesting that people should get a shot every two months, basically six

shots a year, and then secondly, to add to the confusion, his message came just a single

day after Kamala Harris tweeted out this, quote,

one shot once a year, that all most people will need to stay protected from COVID year

long.

And so it appeared that depending on who you were listening to within the Biden administration,

you were being instructed to take somewhere between one to six shots every single year.

And so in order to clarify, just a few days later, Javier Basera issued an updated statement
