Did you know that the Bible describes a work of faith? You can find it in 1st Thessalonians

chapter 1, verse is 1 to 3. Paul and Sylvanius, Timothy, to the Church of the

Veselonians and God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace and peace to you.

We always thank God for all of you, remembering you in our prayers and continually recalling

before our God and Father, your work of faith.

Work of faith.

What is that?

Blasphemy. Heresy. I can hear him right now. Heresy. You're a heretic.

Well, if I'm a heretic, then I'm a heretic along with the Apostle Paul, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship by the God of my fathers. And if you're going to try to use the club

of reformist orthodoxy and Catholic orthodoxy to beat me over the head, then so be it. I'll be a

heretic and I'll die with Peter and Paul and the apostles. There is a work of faith.

There is a labor of love and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

So that's what Paul says to the Thessalonian Church.

Then in 2nd Thessalonians chapter 1, verse 11, to this end, we always pray for you that our God would count you worthy of his calling and that he will powerfully

fulfill your every good desire and work of faith. So there is this idea of a work of faith.

So I have a question for all of those that say that there's no work that we can do at all.

What is work? They want to say that being baptized is a work, and they want to say that

receiving the Holy Ghost is a work, so there's nothing I can do. But baptism does require effort on my part. I have to obey.

The Bible talks about obedience to the faith. It says of me that Peter said they have not all

obeyed the gospel. So there is an obedience to the gospel. I walk to the baptismal tank. I get in.

That is action on my part. But God does the work. God remits the sins. There's no
