Recently, I counseled a young woman. I'd like to mentor young women, and she was in a rough spot in her

marriage. And I just challenged her to be careful about the narrative that she was drafting about her

marriage. She was starting to make statements and judgments about her marriage that actually

weren't true, but she was like rendering a verdict against her marriage. So I challenged her to get with her

hubby, go out on a date, and to be honest about some of the false narratives that they've been

developing, and lay them out on the table, and find out what's true in Scripture, what they can

believe God for, what is possible because they are both people who love

Jesus, who are filled with the spirit of God, and write a new narrative, one to live up to,

and aspire to.

And she received it so well, and I was so appreciative.
