0:10.7	Today we're going to play a clip from John Piper going over the doctrine of election from his perspective.
0:16.4	But before we go there, I want to give a quick overview and a lesson on the three different views of election historically, two of which I believe are both biblical. They're not either-or-type
0:26.8	concepts, but one which is the Calvinistic view of election, which is, of course, something
0:31.2	I don't believe is biblically founded. But I want to be fair as I can in representing Calvinists,
0:36.2	which is why almost in every episode you'll hear me play a Calvinistic clip for themselves.
0:41.3	I want you to hear them for what they teach.
0:43.3	I'm often accused of misrepresenting Calvinism.
0:46.3	That's not my intention. That's why I play them for themselves, something that very rarely Calvinists do on their own broadcast, play the best of our scholars for ourselves.
0:55.7	Instead, oftentimes Calvinist, at least in my experience, paint Calvinists, paint all non-Calvinists
1:01.6	of believing in some kind of weird foresight faith, God traveling into time on a Delorean, as Matt Chandler put it,
1:08.1	and others paint it in this most ridiculous way possible.
1:11.7	I'm not doing that. Now, you may accuse me of a lot of different things, but I think I'm at least
1:16.2	being as fair, if not more fair, than most of the leading scholarly Calvinist in our world today,
1:21.9	at least on the broadcast that I've been listening to. Now, if you want to send me
1:25.1	examples of where a well-known Calvinist have
1:28.5	represented the provisionist or traditionalist Southern Baptist perspective in a robust way, I would
1:34.0	love to hear it. And I would give them much praise and thanks for their willingness to go out of
1:40.1	their way and paint our view in the most correct light and the most realistic light
1:45.3	as possible. And so I want you to hear from John Piper here in a second, but I want you to have
1:51.1	a kind of a framework on which to base his answers and his arguments on. Because as David
1:57.3	Allen has said before and I have continually said, Calvinists have the same vocabulary,
