| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Ten Minute Bible Hour podcast. Right now we're going through the entire Bible |
| 0:05.8 | to understand it is one big cohesive story. We're covering one book each day and this |
| 0:10.4 | one's about Luke. |
| 0:18.9 | It's crazy that Luke contributed as much to the New Testament as he did. He wrote two huge |
| 0:25.3 | books. One of them is the Gospel of Luke that we're talking about today. It's the third |
| 0:30.6 | of the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And then he wrote a sequel to that |
| 0:34.7 | book called Act, which is the fifth book in the New Testament. And it's the history of |
| 0:41.3 | what happened with the early church, but not only did Luke write these two huge books, |

| 1:25.8 | But Luke, he's from somewhere up north. He's not a prophet. He's not trained theologically, |
| 1:32.9 | at least not in any formal way, like say Paul or some others. He's not a professional historian. |
| 1:38.4 | Either he's a doctor. And so both by ethnicity and profession is just pretty wild that he |
| 1:44.6 | ended up doing as much Bible writing as he ended up doing. Also, it's kind of awesome that |
| 1:50.4 | he's both of those things. One, the Gentile thing is awesome because it undergirds the theological |
| 1:56.8 | theme of the Bible that this always was for the Jews and for the Gentiles. But the second |
| 2:02.6 | reason that I think who Luke is is pretty awesome considering his role is the way his mind |
