How do you release heaven's blessing by loving,

sacrifices, unselfishly, humbly, without any thought of personal gain,

personal fulfillment, personal satisfaction, but completely committed to the sheer well-being,

joy, satisfaction, fulfillment, and necessity of somebody else. I. Welcome to Grace to you with John MacArthur. I'm your host Phil Johnson. Today John's going to mix things up a bit.

Instead of walking you verse by verse through a passage of scripture, he's going to field

questions from his congregation about the Bible and the Christian life,

maybe even some questions you've wrestled with as you've studied God's word.

Questions like, what parts of the gospel do you need to believe in order to be saved?

Do you need to believe in the Trinity?

And should children take communion if they're not baptized?

Those are just a few of the practical issues John's going to look at.

So let's get started. You're going to hear a member of Grace Community Church

ask a question and then John will respond.

My question is concerning the death of Christ.

And I know that the word faith people

are teaching a very erroneous teaching on the death of Christ and going to hell and being

born again and so forth.

But it seems like some sound teachers are denying the spiritual death of Christ

along, you know, to kind of dispute what the word faith people are saying.

And I'd like you, if you would, to answer the question,

did Christ die spiritually on the cross

and order some of the scriptural texts in regard to that?
