Good morning and welcome to our first service on Sunday mornings. We have two services, the first of which is devoted to Bible prophecy. We do our weekly Bible prophecy updates. And then second service is our verse by verse study through the Word of God. Last week, we finished the book of Philemon and today, very excited. Really looking forward to beginning in the book of Hebrews.

time. And we're going to look at why it is that we as Christians can calm down and look up despite everything that is happening

And while you're doing that there, and for those of you here, I want to kind of start off a little bit different today and just

kind of share with you what the Lord this last week. I just love it when the Lord does that.

He just kind of meets you right where you're at, ministers to you, speaks to you in and through his word.

And in preparation for today's update, I spent some time in first and second Peter.

I haven't done that for a while.

And in so doing, I was just so greatly encouraged and strengthened.

While we will be looking at a number of passages in Peter's epistles, I would really encourage

you to revisit these letters in your own time in God's Word. I don't know. This is true of every book

in the Bible because God's word is alive, but especially First and Second Peter, it is so

apropos for where we're at in this world today.

And there's a reason for that and the reason is is that Peter, by the Holy Spirit, speaks to those who are discouraged due to intense opposition and profound persecution.

I'm starting out this way for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the purpose of today's prophecy update in particular.
