The second service is actually the sermon. We're currently in our verse by verse study through the Word of God

in First Peter having completed James. And we began First Peter last week. Today we're going to look at the reasons as to why it is that we all suffer grief when we go through

those various kinds of fiery trials in our lives. There's a reason for it. And so that'll be

started. I want to talk with you about why it just cannot be much longer before the rapture and the time of the end. And specifically the pre-tribulation

rapture, the seven-year tribulation that will ensue, and the second coming of Jesus Christ

at the end of the tribulation. And here's why. The prophecies

in the Bible point to how it is that we can know just how close we are, so we're not caught

off guard. So for us, it's not as a thief in the night.

In the Apostle Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians chapter 4, verse 13 and chapter 5 verses 1 and 2,

he emphasizes no less than two times that we're not to be ignorant or uninformed about the dead in Christ as it relates

to the soon return of Christ at the rapture. In fact, that's what the whole letter, both letters,

are about, the rapture of the church. I know I quote these two verses in

John's gospel, John 13 verse 19, but I think it's apropos and I think you'll see why

here in a moment. Now this is Jesus speaking and he says I am telling you now

before it happens so that when it does happen, you will

believe that I am who I am, the I am.

Now he says the same thing in John 1429.

He says, I have told you now before it happens so that when it does happen, you will

believe.
