1:18.4	of gender equity. My first guest is a big wave surfer, the unstoppable Bianca Valente,
1:23.6	who I interviewed in a cafe in Pacifica, California right near Maverick's Beach.
1:28.4	For my PBS show, tell me more. She's easy to talk to and fast to connect and her story is familiar.
1:34.8	I mean, if you ever watched that old footage of Billie Jean King playing Bobby Riggs,
1:39.5	you might find it crossing your mind as I ask Bianca what it's like to be a woman on the waves.
1:44.9	She's been passionate about surfing since she was seven years old and has spent years as an activist
1:50.8	trying to ensure some kind of equality and inclusion and equity in professional surfing.
1:57.4	In 2016, Bianca co-founded the Committee for Equity in Women's Surfing, now known simply as
2:03.6	Surf Equity. And this is kind of cool. A feature film is currently being developed by Charlize
2:09.4	Theran's Denver and Delilah production company, along with Netflix and director Nikki Carro,
2:15.2	who you might know as the director of Disney's live action Mulan. So trust me,
2:20.4	I'm not the only person who's noticed how fantastic Bianca Valenti is.
