Hello, this is Hal Herring with Backcountry Hunters and Anglers podcast and Blast.

Thanks for joining me today. I've got some kind of new I'm working on. I've been in Washington, D.C.

made a foray into the nation's capital and was lucky to meet with some of our

representatives and senators who were engaged in deeply important conservation matters.

I'm grateful to them for cutting out the time for us and I hope you enjoy it.

I know we've avoided politics a lot of times or we don't do too much politics but I guess I go with the old saying

you know you may not be interested in politics but politics is interested in you.

So much of what we love and depend on as outdoors men and

women in America today is for better or worse entangled with politics and it's a

participatory democracy or participatory Democratic Republic and that means that we have to know enough to participate.

And in a sense, I guess we're all chained to this wheel and we all got a pull and the more we know

the happier we can do that pulling. So with that said John Gail BHA and I are going to have a short conversation here about

Land and Water Conservation Fund and what it means.

Some of the topics that we'll be talking about today and John does a great job explaining that and then I'm going to move

on to Senator Michael Bennett of Colorado and we're going to go to U.S. Representative

Dr. Roger Marshall of Kansas and we're going to

Senator Martin Heinrich of New Mexico and we'll finish up with Senator Richard

Burr of North Carolina. So stay with us.
