Welcome back to Beyond the Polls. I'm joined this week by two guests, Georgia's Martha Zoller and Cook Politicals, Aaron Covey, who will break down the hottest primary races on Tuesday's big six contests. Let's dive in.

0:16.7

Well, it's always an eventful week in American politics, and both the last week and what's going to be happening is quite eventful.

0:24.2

Because of that, we're not going to have ads of the week this week because there's so much to cover.

0:29.4

That's why we are trying to put everything into perspective for you.

0:34.0

But I will give you my normal rant.

0:36.3

You can get rid of the ads, but you can't get rid of me.

0:39.4

And the thing I want to talk about is redistricting.

1:14.6

and then the Republicans redistricting in a rush in southern states to take advantage of the

1:20.6

Supreme Court's decision in Louisiana versus Calus means there is a clear winner now in the

1:26.6

redistricting war, and that at least for this cycle,

1:29.5

and that is Republicans. And I want to add that Missouri Supreme Court unanimously ruled that's

1:37.4

simply filing a petition or petitions to have a referendum on the Republican gerrymander in that state does not

1:48.0

automatically stay the map that you have to check the signatures. And if the map is, the referendum

1:56.1

is certified before the primary, then the map is stayed and presumably a court will order something to happen.

2:03.5

But if it takes until another few months, which is something that the Republican Secretary of State has the legal purview to do,

2:11.9

it could very well mean that the Republican gerrymander will take effect, at least for 2026 and then for the rest of the decade,
