Welcome back to be on the polls. This week, I'll talk about next Tuesday's elections with the University of Virginia's Jay Miles Coleman. Let's dive in.

Now, next Tuesday is the day that election aficionados have been waiting for. We have elections in New York City. We have elections in New Jersey. We have

elections for mayor. We have Gavin Newsom's attempt to counteract the gerrymander that Republicans

enacted in Texas with his own in California. But here in Washington, we're all looking at Virginia

because a lot of us live here and also the candidate who is going for governor

or somebody who might not stay as governor if you know what I mean.

And here to deconstruct everything with us is Jay Miles Coleman with Sabato's Crystal Ball

and analyst and particularly an aficionado of the ins and outs of Virginia politics. Miles, welcome back

to be on the polls. Thanks for having me back. Well, let's just start with the $64,000 question.

Abigail Spanberger, governor-elect or not?

It's funny.

I was telling someone the other day about how, like, you, we might get into this a bit

later, but with some of the downbass stuff, there's been scandals and stuff.

And what it kind of remind me of not that I'm a big fan of his, but there's a quote

by Vladimir Lenin that there are decades where nothing happens, and then there are weeks where decades happen.

And kind of if you superimpose that onto like a campaign's timeframe, that's about where we are in Virginia, because for most of this time, it's been kind of predictable.

You know, a few things here and there, but, oh, man,ober hit there's you know there's been like kind of scandals on each side

there's a there's been a redistricting effort in our state it's just all hits but i think kind of the

one constant through all this is like it would be a very big surprise um if Spanberger does not come out next week winning.

I think really the big kind of question that a lot of us are focused on is what her margin is going to be.

There are some polls that have her low mid single digits or others that have her closer to 10 points, more or less, you know, low mid-single digits or others that have her closer to 10 points,

more or less, you know, I kind of always take the opinion that the truth is probably somewhere
