In the summer of 1975, 17-year-old Laurel Mitchell walked into darkness.

She didn't make it to her intended destination, the now-defunct amusement park Adventureland.

She never made it home to her family, her parents, brother, and younger sister Sarah.

Instead, Laurel was abducted and taken from her hometown of Northwestern Indiana in Casiosco County.

She was driven miles away to Noble County.

She was sexually assaulted and dumped in the southern branch of the Elkhart River.

She died by drowning. Her murder remains unsolved.

Today, we'll once again be hearing from Sarah and Nicely, Laurel's younger sister.

Decades after Laurel's murder, Sarah continues to act as an advocate for her older sister.
