Dress? The history of fashion? It's a production of iHeart Radio.

0:23.2

With over 7 billion people in the world, we all have one thing in common.

0:27.0

Every day, we all get dressed. Welcome to Dress, the history of fashion,

0:31.6

a podcast that explores the who, what, when, of why we wear. We are fashion historians

0:36.9

and your host, Cassidy Zachary, and April Callahan. Dress listeners, the 2022 Academy of Wars

0:44.8

are only a few days away. An eye for one cast must admit that I have only seen three,

0:52.1

very sadly, only three of the films nominated for Best Picture this year. I mean, usually,

0:58.4

I do a lot better. Like, usually I've seen at least like three quarters of them. So this

1:03.3

year is a little bit of a meoculpa. But that definitely does not mean that I will not be

1:08.0

tuning in on this coming Sunday to watch the 94th Academy Awards. So what about you, Cass? Have you

1:15.2

seen a lot or many of the best picture nominees? I'm not, like, I think about at 50%. I don't,

1:23.3

I don't know which ones you saw. I saw Kota, which I loved, which was so good. King Richard was

1:27.6

really good. Still getting through West Side Story. I've done West Side Story. I've done

1:33.7

Dune. Likrish Pizza is amazing. Yeah. So I haven't seen Likrish Pizza. I have seen Dune,

1:41.2

and I have to tell you my story about Dune because I actually, one of my favorite films that I

1:45.8

ever worked on when I was a costumeer was on Sikario and Denis Villeneva, who's the director of Dune,

1:53.3

was the director. He was the most lovely man I've ever met in film. And so I had the pleasure of

1:59.2

working with him on that. And then Bob Morgan is another dear costumeer friend who was the

2:07.2

costume designer on Dune. And he was a co-hosting designer with Jacqueline West, and they were both

2:13.4

nominated for Oscars. So yeah. Here we go, friends. All comes back together. Yeah. I know. And I'll

2:22.8

definitely be watching Academy Wars this Sunday to see Bob hopefully take home an Oscar. He's so

2:28.4

deserving. He's been doing it for so many years and the costumes are just incredible in that film.
