Summary

It's my opinion that a huge part of a man's journey is being able to have real conversations about the struggles we have with maleness. Some men respond by disowning as much of their maleness as they can, but leave a lot of disconnection, pain, and anger unhealed. The end result is a personality type that (in my opinion) does more harm than good. Did you enjoy the podcast? If so, please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, or Podchaser. But it is a term and an archetype, a sort of personality that I have seen continuing to rise and grow within our modern culture.

And the reason why I wanted to talk about this is because the male apologist in some

0:41.8

ways very damaging to male and female relationships.

0:45.0

Because as I'm going to get into in this video, he's challenging to date for women.

0:51.1

He is someone that's very hard to trust for men.

0:56.5

And as an individual, the male apologist often feels very dissatisfied within his own life. Now, as I go through defining what a

1:03.4

male apologist is, how he is generally created, I just want you to think about maybe somebody

1:09.6

in your life that sort of fits this bill.

1:12.1

Now, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's just for a deeper level of understanding of how

1:18.3

some of us work. And frankly, I've been this guy. I was like what I would categorize as a male

1:25.9

apologist in my 20s. I was deeply untrustful

1:28.9

towards other men. I would talk shit about them behind their back. I gained a tremendous

1:34.0

amount of self-worth and validation from women. I tried to create a personality and an identity

1:40.8

based on what I thought women wanted me to be as a man.

1:45.0

So I'm giving you some insight into what this archetype is like.

1:49.0

And to be honest, I probably did the most damage in my life when I was this character,

1:56.0

when I was this archetype, when I was bought into this internal narrative. And I'm going to talk about why it's so
