So today, once again, I'm talking with Doug Hagerin.

Hey, Kirk, long time. No, C.

We're just going to dive right in here. We're trying to make this really kind of more focused on

timely events so that people can stay up to date with what's going on in the markets and the

economy. So, Doug, what do you see in the economy right now? What's new and different?

Interestingly enough, especially today when we're recording

this, there's talk of really high inflation numbers that came out in June, some of the highest

they've seen in, what, 40 years? And now, you know, we're looking at cost of everything going

up at the same time. There's talk of the Fed raising more interest rates. But hey, at least today,

the markets are happy about it. They're on a

temporary run. So if this wasn't confusing, we wouldn't be sitting here trying to explain it all, right?

Yeah, that's for sure. Yeah, we had a 9.1% inflation rate. I feel like every single month they come out with

the CPI numbers. Last month, it was 8.6. They're like, oh, well, this is the peak.

I can see it's peaking and it's going to come back down. Now it's 9.1. The best thing for all

listeners you could do is just tune out to everything. If you really want some mental sanity,

tune out the news. Don't listen to it because it's going to make you crazy. And quite frankly, they love that. They love it when you're crazy because it means
