Hey, Dave, I was cleaning up my iPhone in preparation for transferring data.

And I saw in my Venmo app, it indicated that I had a message.

I opened it up and saw a bunch of transactions on the social feature of the app.

And I saw several of your transactions where you were getting paid for gigs and things like that,

which surprised me.

So I thought I'd write you on the off chance that you weren't aware that you had the app set to post your transactions.

Yes, indeed, I did and I was not aware of this. You can go into your

Venmo settings and tell it to default to one of three privacy settings, public to the world,

only to friends or only to you. So I went and set my Venmo settings to be only to me. And that way

it doesn't matter what someone on the other end chooses.

It makes the transaction private no matter what.
