Here we are one day before the election, and I'm going to do my best to read between the lines to tell you, as of right now, what I think is going on.

And the way to try to assess what's going on is not to look at one thing,

but to try to look at three or four different things and to see if they harmonize with one another. So one of them, of course, is going to be the polls. We'll talk about that.

The second one is to look at the betting markets where people

are putting money. The third is to look at the behavior of the candidates because the candidates

themselves have access to very important inside information. They know how the campaign is going.

They have internal polling that is reputedly

more surgical, more targeted, in a way more comprehensive than the kind of stuff that standard

pollsters put out there. And you have to look to see if the two candidates, their behavior is

going to tell you what their internal information

systems are telling them, what their campaign is telling them to do.
