My name is Kay. I grew up in California.

I was born and raised in the Monterey Bay area.

My family is Mexican-American.

We grew up going back and forth between the U.S. and Mexico pretty frequently, especially when I was a child.

We were pretty close with our extended family back then, so grandma's still alive, so we'd frequently go and convene at her house.

It's a small Pueblo close to Guadalajara.

It was one of those summers that we went to go visit my extended family in

Halisco and so we were staying at my aunt's house.

My aunt has this big three-story house with a flat rooftop.
