Holy Spirit, you are welcome here. And we know that you want to speak to us through your word.

This word that we're about to open is inspired, breathed by the Holy Spirit. And we pray that

you will help us to look at our challenges, our problems, our obstacles in the light of your

power and let us see them with new eyes. So speak to us as we open your word, we pray now in Jesus

name. We ask this. Amen. All right. You can all be seated. Good morning to everybody. I should say

good afternoon. Who wants to hear a Bible study? Raise your hand. Good. Good. How many of you

brought your Bible? Anything works. If it's a tablet, if you have a Bible on it, just don't play

angry birds or something like if we're going to have a Bible study and I'm going to ask you to turn

to Exodus chapter 13. You might say, but Greg, we're in the book of Joshua. I know and we're continuing

on in that narrative, but we're going to kind of go back to what we might call the origin story.

How the Israelites got to this place where they're poised to enter the promised land. So

Exodus 13 is what we're going to land in the title of this message is between impossible and

more impossible. Between impossible and more impossible. Let me start with the question.

Have you ever been in this situation where the only way out was God? In other words, if God

didn't come through for you, you were dead in the water. Maybe it was a report from a doctor,

they said, I'm sorry, there's nothing more we can do for you. Maybe it was a financial catastrophe

and you were on the brink of collapse. Maybe it was a death of a loved one and you thought, I

cannot survive this. That's a very situation we find Israel in in this story before us. Now as we
