Summary

So often, in the beginning of the new year, we have a vision of what it means to have the best year ever. But this idealization of what life could be can prevent us from stepping into what God truly has for us. This weekend, Pastor Andy Wood shares why it’s important to pursue a better year instead of a perfect one and the ways we can do that.

0:05.9	And I love this weekend in particular because there will not be a weekend all year that you believe change is possible more than right now.

0:51.0	do I have the best year ever. I thought I would in 2020 and then 2020 hit and I was like, oh wait, that's not the best year ever. But it is very rarely do I have the best year ever. I thought I would in 2020 and then 2020 hit,
0:55.4	and I was like, oh, wait, that's not the best year ever. But it is possible every year to have
1:00.1	a better year. And we're going to talk about how do we actually have a better year and make
1:05.1	progress in our lives. And this comes out of a couple of places in my journey. One of them,
1:10.2	in particular, happened for me a really
1:12.3	long period of time ago. I was listening to a podcast from a guy that worked at this company.
1:17.0	You know what company this is? Chick-fil-A. At our Lake Forest campus, everybody knows
1:23.0	Chick-fil-A. International campuses, you can look. This is a wonderful place. People often call it Christian Chicken.
1:31.0	But Chick-fil-A, it's an awesome place. Our family goes there. But there's a story about the founder of Chick-fil-A.
1:37.7	So one of my distant mentors, a guy by the name of Jeff Henderson, used to serve as a VP at Chick-fil-A.
1:43.7	And one time he was in a meeting with Truitt Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A.
