There is a new sensibility, a new venom, a new force driving the right in American politics today. You see it with the Trump

administration. There is a ferocity to these guys that we haven't seen in politics, probably

in our lifetimes, even though I sometimes harken back to early Reagan, Reagan came in with a certain type of serene

confidence and there was a sense that new possibilities were introduced because of the failures

of the cardiars, but you didn't have this kind of gritty drive, almost a sense of a new group of people. And to some degree, we are talking

about new people. When you think about people like RFK Jr. Elon Musk, these are not people

traditionally on the right. So there is a rearrangement of forces going on. but I want to highlight the aggressive, no-holds-barred temperament

of the Trumpsters. And it's not just the Trumpsters in the government. It's the Trumpsters

who support the Trumpsters in the government, not to mention Trump himself.

I think all of this can be illuminated by a short passage, author unknown, that talks about
