We've got to figure out a way to elevate this system if this system called representative democracy that's had a 243 year run.

Is going to be able to continue. I mean we got to recognize it.

No matter what happens out of this election there's still going to be deep divides in this nation.

We're going to be joined today by a very special guest in our main segment. We're spending a few minutes with governor Steve Bullock of Montana.

A very accomplished governor in his own right in a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president before that we have a lot of news to get to including just a couple of

quick highlights of things going on and then we're going to dive in to what's happening around the 2020 race.

First up let's catch up on impeachment the house is now released Yvonne of it and McKinley's transcripts from their testimonies.

Now we're going to discuss these more in depth on Friday's episode because they just came out like two hot minutes ago.

And Beth you're going to tackle them on the nightly nuance this week but we got a lot of people scheduled to testify this week and we expect almost none of them to show up.

The name that is probably most prominent in the midst of those folks who are supposed to come and don't plan to is John Eisenberg who is a lawyer for the National Security Council and he's the person.

Allegedly who made the decision to put the notes of the Ukraine call between the president and Volodymyr Zelensky in a more classified server.

And so Congress is very interested in what he has to say about why he made that decision but they're probably going to have to go to court to get him to say it to them.

We also have an interesting aside from the president over the weekend while he was talking with reporters on the White House lawn.

As you probably recall from our budget conversation. Government funding runs out on November 21st. So we're going to need to figure out a way to fund the government past that date.

And a reporter asked basically, well, you hold the funding hostage because of the impeachment.

And at first he was like, no, no, no, and then he was like, oh, I don't know.

Everything's up when we talk about negotiation. So we'll just have to talk about the negotiation when it happens, which not very encouraging.
