What a great night.

I love baptism.

As a baptism, I think one of the young men who are being baptized, they said it best.

Baptism is not a symbolic act.

It's a prophetic act.

Communions is symbolic act.

Jesus said, do this and remember it's me.

So we take communion to remember what's the cross we live on.

But baptism is not a symbolic act.

Baptism is prophetic act.

Do you remember when Elisha told Neymann the leper to go dip seven times in the river,

in the Jordan River when he had leprosy?

And he dipped seven times and when he came out the seventh time, he was clean.

There's no magic in the water.

But physical obedience brings spiritual release.

And Roman 6 very clearly says that if we were buried with him in baptism, then we surely

shall be raised with him in newness of life.

And so a really important thing about baptism, all those who were baptized tonight and those

have been baptized in the past.

I love this part of baptism, but I think sometimes we don't actually share with people the power

of baptism.
