Access More. Today's conversation on the porch is a highlight reel of the theological topics that have garnered the most response from y'all, our porch pals. Things like how the gap between our formal theology and our functional theology

becomes a seedbed of hypocrisy, how the juxtapositional miracle of Jesus' transcendence and his

imminence is key to both our identity and our security as Christ followers. Jesus is not a faraway

dispassionate deity or an existential construct, y'all.

He's an up-close audaciously compassionate Savior.

We're also going to talk about how the Bible is much more about we than me and how community

is the most effective hermeneutic of the gospel.

That's just a fancy word that means the lens through which we see

God in His Word and how we formulate our understanding of who He is. The people God positions

around us can be amazing carriers of grace. We were never meant to walk this life alone.

Christianity is not simply a system through which we establish our ethics.

It's relational, not transactional.

It's about getting to enjoy an authentic, intimate relationship with the God who breathed our universe into existence and then also with each other.

Which reminds me, the only reason Allie, Dr. Howard and I get to do this podcast is because

you, you choose to pull your chairs up to the proverbial porch with us. Thank you. We are so

grateful for this community of faith, and it is such a joy to get to dive deeply into the

word of God and lean more fully into the love of God with you.
