But first, 2025 saw the birth of a baby girl called Amy, who made medical history as the first child in the UK to be delivered from a transplanted uterus.

Amy's mother, Grace, was born with a condition meaning she had no uterus of her own and therefore no prospect of a natural pregnancy.
