Gribble. It is a special week here in Berea as the Browns salute one of their own radio

analysts and former great on the grid iron Doug Geekin. Gribbs 50 years. That's longer than you

and I have both been alive. That's how long Doug Geekin has been affiliated with the Cleveland

Browns. You and I have had plenty of experiences with Doug in our nine plus years of doing this. Just an

unbelievable person on the field off the field and a wonderful guy to get to know and just

talk a little bit about your experiences and it's an emotional week I think for all of us as

Doug gets ready to wrap up a legendary career here with the Browns. Yeah I mean you you threw it

out there with the numbers I mean 50 of 75 years essentially so that's two thirds if I do my

math correctly there with where Doug Geekin has been a part of the Browns and I think it was Tony

Grossy who pointed this out but just think of all the games he has been to like he has been to

all of almost all of those games because he started every game and he had the the consecutive

game streak and he's only missed two games while being in the booth so he has been home rode

for all of these games since 1971 when the Browns drafted him and then for all of us they get to

work with Doug and really more importantly talk with him on the practice fields during during

training camp and things like that since he's always around here just a remarkable guy a guy

that can needle everyone and I think that's a good thing that's the best quality of Doug if you're

being needled by Doug that means he likes you and then is welcomed you into his kind of his inner

circle but it's a very large inner circle because I don't know if anyone has more friends than Doug

Geekin and so it's just an incredible guy that I remember growing up watching the morning exchange

in the early 90s when he was made his regular appearances there and then for me and my childhood

this is not a darker chapter in Brown's history but there's a lot of Browns games that didn't get
