Are you one of these guys that cares about the MVP in baseball? No. Yeah, okay. I mean, I think it's neat if you win it. I think it's cool if you're following it. The whole Raleigh judge thing is neat. Well, yeah, because that's what I was going to bring up. So I don't normally care about the MVP. I really don't. But this one is just interesting because, one, I mean, Judge is involved. Of course. And two, you know, this Cal Raleigh season is historic. No doubt. So it feels a little bit different than your average. And I feel like, I mean, Aaron Judge has got to be like, well, hell, man, I had to deal with Shohei Otani when he was with the Angels and deal with this nonsense with the MVP of a guy doing something who's never done anything before. I should have been winning those. And now I've got to deal with this guy as a switch hitting catcher. Which is pretty. Having a historic season has never, ever been happening before. Quite unique. I should have five MVP's. but yeah, I just, to me, even if you go through like all the numbers and people have and I'll spare everybody and Aaron Judge leads the world and everything, but home runs at RBI as a Cal Raleigh has.

But this special season that he's having at that position as a switch hitting catcher that hit more home runs as a switch hiter than Mickey Mantle and now holds that record.

He deserves it.

And the fact that Seattle is going to be in the playoffs.

Like that's the thing, you know, the first question you asked me very innocently was, do you care about the MVP?

And I would say i probably go back to

know from all the years of guys winning it when it was really the best player award as opposed to most

valuable you just can't be that valuable on a team that stinks it just doesn't matter it's kind of like

the old uh ralph kiner contract negotiation going in for a raise and the owner says,

we've lost 100 games with you, we'll lose 100 games without you.

Same thing.

How can you be the MVP of a bad team?

It doesn't matter.

In this case, you've got Raleigh really leading the charge on a team that's played very well and is going to be a postseason team.

He deserves it.

He does. Yeah, I mean, but the writers who vote on this they always go it's it's the i don't do they really use the valuable part of it they just go through the number it's the player of the year that's exactly what mvp is yeah it's just they go through the numbers and that's why judge will still have a chance because he's going to get a lot of votes because people are going to say, you know, OPS and this and that and everything else.

You know, war, he's got a higher war, which is how is that even possible?

That Aaron Judge has got a higher war than Cal Raleigh when usually the catcher position, the drop off from like your starting catcher to your backup catcher is generally like... Maybe you just answered your own question. Because maybe Seattle's put together so well, not watching them enough to know, but maybe because you don't expect... I had 30-something homelands last year. So it's not like this is completely out of left field. Yeah. But maybe they get enough out of everybody else to where if he misses a game, I don't know, has he played every game this year? My guess would be no as a catcher. But maybe there hasn't been a significant drop-off in games he's not there. When Aaron Judge is out of the lineup, it's noticeable. Yeah. Very noticeable. True. Which is why he probably is the MVP, but I'm with you. I think I would probably vote for Raleigh at this point. Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's just, it's almost like, all right, you know, this season, you've got to be honored. I know. And they missed, I mean, he missed times. He missed a month and he's got 10, 11 games left. He's already over 100 RBIs, over 125 runs scored, almost 50 home runs i mean in three third's tough that is tough uh
