And so what does it mean for the Red Sox? I'm surprised. I understand the qualifying offer or the lack of a qualifying offer of this go-round. And that should make him more attractive to teams in theory. There's no draft pick compensation tied to him as there would have been a year ago. We brought this up with Pete Alonzo before as well. Yeah. I get that. I still don't think. You brought up the third baseman contracts before. Matt Chapman?

Matt Chapman? On the wrong side of 30, which Bregman is, third baseman, biggest contracts they've got.

He got six years 150 at age 31. Yeah, so look at some of these big deals. Mani Machado signed his at 30.

Devers signed his at 26. Anthony Rendon, which is more of a cautionary tale than anything else,

signed his at 29. Nolan Aronado signed his big contract at 27. Austin Riley was 25.

Jose Ramirez, Jose Ram, one of the goats, at 29. And those all vary, right? Some of those are as high as Machado's is 11. Some of those are more six, seven year deals. And I'd imagine some of those guys were coming out stronger years, too. I think even a six-year deal would be an overpay. And that's what he was offered last year. And so this year, maybe it's more like a

four or a five year deal. And it's certainly not going to be the average annual value of 41.

The highest average annuals, there's only four third baseman making over 30 million a year.

And one of those guys is Rendon, which again is like the worst contract. Has it played in

years. Yeah, yeah. That's like a joke of a contract. The year, the year before Matt Chapman got paid by the Giants, he had 17 home runs and hit 240. Okay, so that's not good. He was 30 when he signed, or that was his each 30 season. How many games? Do you have it? 140 games. Okay, so he would have had the edge on Breggman there, but yeah, that's a down year. Breggman missed 50 games and he's going to be 32 on opening day. So. Yeah, and I just, I feel weird talking about him that way. I like Breggman. I want Breggman. I'm just saying like I can't, I don't think there's this $200 million contract waiting for him. Right. But okay, let's say he does follow through on opting out. I didn't think it was a lock, but it sounds like it's going to happen now based on the reporting from John Heyman, who let's just say has a direct line to Breggman's agent. So, yeah, I think now you have to overpay for him. And they have you over a barrel to some extent.

And I don't think Boris has made all the right financial decisions for his client lately. I guarantee you, Jordan Montgomery didn't think he made the right financial decisions. That's why he fired him. Even Blake Snell, I can't imagine. I was thrilled with it a couple years ago. So, but on this one, it looks like Boris is playing it right, assuming there's a market out there. are you willing, Keith, to overpay for Breggman?

Who, again, I like a lot, but I like a lot of the intangible stuff.
