It was September 25th, 2017. Stephen Patek checked into a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.

He had 10 range bags full of guns and ammunition. And six days later, he opened fire on the people on Route 91 at the Harvest Music Festival.

He killed 85 people. He wounded 851 others in what is the deadliest mass shooting committed by one person in US history.

And then he killed himself.

When police investigated, they found 23 rifles in one handgun, 14223 caliber AR-15 type rifles, 8308 AR-10 type rifles, 1308 caliber bold action rifle, and 138 caliber revolver.

On the kitchen counter, next to his hotel room key, there were four credit cards.

And it really reveals how credit cards have become such a crucial part of the planning of these massacres in a way that I have to say I did not even appreciate myself.
