I'm not surprised because last night when he got hit early in that game, he played the rest of the game and was clearly uncomfortable and was clearly in pain.

He acted very differently.

There was a line out late in the game in which he acted like Jeff McNeil and started freaking out.

So it was clear something was a little off with Lindor, day game after night game.

Mets have already won the season series against the Dodgers.

It's June.

You need to be cautious.

But it certainly doesn't sound like an I-L stint.

It sounds like day-to-day, pain tolerance issue.

So no Lindor today with the Mets playing at 4 o'clock.

But over the last few days at this radio station, we've all talked about, I want to hire this guy.

I want to hire that guy.

I want this guy.

Now that we've gotten over the shock of the fact that Tom Fibito was gone.

And so we all have opinions. I want to hire this guy. I just heard Sally. I want Jeff Van Gundy. I want this guy.

We now need to start asking a different question. And it's an interesting question. So let's talk it.

And that is, are people going to want the Nick job?

It is a tremendous question when you consider the expectations, Evan, this is now a team where it's get to the NBA finals or you failed because you had a coach that was good enough to get you to the Eastern Conference finals.

But I think there was some Knicks fans in the initial reaction on Thibbs firing that thought, well, they must have a coach in mind.
