For years, we've been chronicling Newsom trying to force affordable housing on cities, which are happy the way they are.

They don't want the extra, they don't want the extra population, the traffic, the problems that comes. They don't necessarily want

apartment buildings in single family home residential neighborhoods. But the state keeps pushing.

And Huntington Beach has been resisting for years. There's been court battles that have dragged

on for years. They were supposed

to have housing plans in place by October of 2021. And a judge has given them another year.

Catherine Bacall, a San Diego Superior Court judge, says the city has another year to pass a housing plan to lay out where development

can occur. The point man fighting this all these years is city attorney Michael Gates and let's get

them on again. Michael, how are you? Good, good to be with you, John. Thank you for having me.

So is this, now you've been, you've been fighting this forced housing mandate from the state.

So this isn't exactly a win.

It just gives you some breathing room.

Is that right?
