Well, now we present another chapter in the ongoing battle of communist Sacramento against the rest of us.

And this deals with their housing mandates.

Newsom Dippity Doe said, we're going to make sure we have enough housing in the state

of California, and we're going to come up with a state-required housing plan.

That'll tell each town and city just how many new homes they have to build by a certain

deadline.

Well, the one place that's fighting back is Huntington Beach.

In fact, a lot of cities in Orange County haven't really submitted much plans to build this housing.

But Huntington Beach has been told that they have to build 13,368 homes by the end of the decade.

Now, they have about 200,000 people in Huntington Beach, and the response from most of the city council, the mayor, was, no, we like our community the way it is, and we think we should decide how to build and where to build and how much to build.

So we've now had an ongoing battle between the two and the state is saying, well, there will be repercussions. There will be fines and fees and withholding funding and blah, blah.

Last night, the city council, though, voted four to three with another effort was made to

adopt the state plan, the housing plan, and they rejected it. So we're going to talk to

the mayor, Tony Strickland, and the city attorney for

ington Beach, Michael Gates.
