Well, in all the times that the media likes to talk about the decline under progressive woke leaders,

they sometimes point to California with our homelessness and crime problems.

And one place they go to in particular when they want to look at homelessness and crime is

San Francisco. In fact, the term that's now been applied to that city is the Dune Loop.

And it's not just from crime and homelessness, but it's also a place where I guess a lot of

Downtown San Francisco I saw yesterday has a 30-some-odd percent vacancy rate for office rentals.

One story that also got a lot of attention concerning all of this was a major

downtown San Francisco mall known as the Westfield Mall. I had been there many times over the years.

The big tenant was Nordstrom's. Well, they pulled out. And that was followed by the mall's owner

announcing that it was going to stop making payments on a $558 million loan

and was effectively leaving the city.
