Summary
In this Best of The Herd, best-selling sports novelist Jeff Pearlman stops in studio to discuss the contrasting state of the Lakers from a few decades ago and now, Jerry West's portrayal in HBO's "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty," creative liberties taken in the series, and the next book he would like to see made into a television series or movie.
Also, it's the Boston Celtics that are rising to the top in the Eastern Conference Finals. That's no surprise to Colin--he's been expecting this Boston team to round into form for a while now.

I mean, it was really a family-run organization. Yeah. And that comes across obviously in the show. Mom and Pop, yeah. It really was a mom and pop organization. And when they were going in for a coach as an example, like when they hired Mike Dunleavy, as an example, after Power Riley, they ended up hiring Mike Dunleavy. And Jerry West was all in on Dunleavy.
